Three days til the wind stops blowing
He can hardly wait to leave this place
The snow begins to fall much faster
And his thin green coat wont keep him safe
The wind howls and screams,"Your freezing! Soon someone will take your place."
The whiskers under his nose are frozen and his eyebrows start to take that shape
The cold wind blows his paper blanket, with the tear stained obituaries
A tear is frozen to his cheek as he thinks on his last day
A family taken and left alone was he to chase the snow away
He looks out into the open air, fearful of the dark
His greatest wish will soon be real and he can rest his broken heart
The snow falls faster as he clears his eyes of tears
Looking into snowflakes sea, there's something that he hears
Blood shot eyes and frozen cheeks stare in wonderment
Thoughts swirl in and out as light embraces him
"Whats this? Could it be, my babies have come to me?"
Out of the sky and wind blown snow, race two little boys to bring their father home.
